SCATTERING OF ASHES
Penguin Island and the Shoalwater Islands Marine Park has been a favourite playground for locals since the late 1800’s and for many it holds a special place in their hearts. In response to an increase in enquiries regarding ‘scattering of ashes’ we have compiled the following information to assist with your planning.
Scattering of Ashes
Families wishing to honour a loved one with an ash-scattering ceremony can privately charter our glass-bottom boat, Queanbeyan, for a 45-minute cruise through the beautiful Shoalwater Islands Marine Park.
Your group will board at Mersey Point Jetty and cruise to a quiet location of your choosing within the marine park. The skipper will allow time for the ceremony, scattering of ashes, and reflection before returning to shore.
Possible cruise times are 9.00-9.30am, 12.30-1.00pm and 3.00-3.30pm. Please note some departures may not be available depending on our daily cruise schedule.
Boarding: Mersey Point Jetty
Capacity: Up to 49 passengers (contact us for larger groups)
Departure times: 8:00am-8:45am, 12:15-1:00, 2:30-3:15
