Perth Day Tours

Rockingham Wild Encounters offers a series of wildlife adventures that are amongst the best Perth day tours on offer!

For the more adventurous, imagine swimming with wild bottlenose dolphins. The crew at Rockingham Wild Encounters have been taking people to interact with these fascinating creatures in their natural habitat for over 20 years. There are no tricks and no training, food is not offered to the dolphins as a reward. You simply spend some time enjoying their company- it’s a wild encounter!

The 2-hour Dolphin Watch is best described as an eco- adventure. Set in the crystal clear waters of the Shoalwater Islands Marine Park, which contains a series of ruggedly spectacular limestone islands and reef, the tour combines adventure style boating with wildlife viewing. The stars of the show are Rockingham’s famous wild dolphins. Rockingham Wild Encounters have come to know over 180 local bottlenose dolphins and have a better than 99% success rate.

If you have more time and would like to see more of the wildlife we recommend upgrading to the Dolphins, Penguins and Sea Lions tour option. This enables you to enjoy free time on Penguin Island at the conclusion of the Dolphin Watch Tour. It also includes a picnic lunch, the penguin feeding show at the discovery centre and a 45 minute glass bottom boat cruise of the sanctuary zone in Shoalwater Bay.

Perhaps the most popular Perth day tour option is Rockingham Wild Encounters ferry service to Penguin Island. It’s only a 35 minute south of Perth and a 5 minute ferry ride away. The star attraction of Penguin Island is the little penguins (the smallest species in the world!). The Department of Environment and Conservation host 3 daily penguin feeding presentations a day at the Discovery Centre at 10.30am, 12.30 and 2.30pm.
